A local community is benefiting from the upgrade of the village lab centre.
The St Joseph Care and Support Trust is a non-profit organisation that operates a computer lab based in the Sizanani village outside Bronkhorstspruit. Here the lab offers basic computer literacy training to unemployed grade-12a, abandoned children along with life skills and health-related care issues to community members.
Gijima sponsored the computer lab: providing 20 desktops, a server, a multifunction printer plus setup and installation of the equipment at the centre.
St. Joseph’s Care and Support Trust at Sizanani Village is a non-profit organisation based in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Region 7, east of Pretoria. The organisation was formed in 1999 as a response to HIV and AIDS pandemic. It remains the only organisation offering comprehensive holistic Palliative Care services in the region for people with life threatening illness. St Joseph’s is working alongside the South African Government in breaking the cycle of poverty facing many rural communities and has contributed immensely in health and social development, job creation and poverty alleviation. Services are rendered by a team of highly committed, fully trained and experienced staff members.
