Gijima provides various offerings within these modernisation and transformation journeys including large scale enablement to Microsoft Azure, based on an industrialised approach.

Approach and Methodology

The following provides a high level overview of our approach for our Cloud Migration Services

Customer Stories


APPSolve, an IT services and support provider required an alternative hosting environment for their financial system as their previous provider could not fulfil their stated requirements.

The customer considered Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Oracle Cloud as an alternative to their hosting provider.  Due to the nature to the Oracle customer application, the services could be hosted internationally so in country availability was not the primary factor to be considered.

Ultimately the value of Microsoft Azure was proven to APPsolve by Gijima and furthermore, assisted with the definition of and migration to a scalable infrastructure solution in Microsoft Azure.

The provincial government was faced with the challenge of modernizing its data centre environment and to become more agile in providing services to business, users and ultimately the citizens of the province.

The first step in delivering the digital journey was the data centre shift away from physical infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. Gijima, as part of the Microsoft engagement, delivered a large-scale migration of the on-premise server landscape to Microsoft Azure utilising an industrialised approach for the migration.

The digital transformation of the services it provides has had immediate benefits. The new cloud-delivered service allows for the agile provisioning of an environment which in the past due procurement timeframes, have been holding back development. Internal IT teams could provision and test new applications and services within hours.

The Impendle Municipality was confronted with failed audit findings on IT service continuity from the Auditor General. The key objective of this engagement was to implement a consolidated platform that would provide Impendle with the capability to easily extend its data centre to Azure. Gijima implemented an Azure Site Recovery solution.

Vukile Property Fund is a property fund company, with their IT environment operating on Microsoft technologies. Vukile had to refresh existing hardware with consideration for disaster recovery infrastructure and the respective facilities. The Microsoft Azure solution was really appealing for Vukile. This meant that they would only have to focus on connectivity rather than having to invest in data centre facilities and refreshing hardware and storage. Because they have already invested in other Microsoft technologies, it made sense to reap the benefits of a more integrated approach.
